Savour the Finest Pairing: Omi Beef Shigure-ni Monaka by Asai x KRUG


We are delighted to present a meticulously crafted delicacy designed to complement our current pour of Krug Champagne.


This exquisite creation comes from the esteemed culinary house Sukiyaki Asai, nestled in Toranomon. Though only opened in March this year, the restaurant has already earned a coveted spot in the Michelin Guide 2025 as a “Selected” establishment, renowned not only for its impeccable sukiyaki but also for its discerning winelist.


Asai sources premium Omi beef, one of Japan’s three greatest wagyu, from Shiga’s legendary butcher, Sakaeya, celebrated for their mastery in fine meats. The beef is delicately simmered with ginger and honey to create their signature shigure-ni (sweet and savoury simmered beef). For this offering, in a contemporary twist, the shigure-ni is blended with velvety mascarpone and elegantly encased in a crisp, golden monaka wafer.

Savour the harmony of rich beef umami and sweetness, and the delicate acidity of mascarpone, all enveloped by the aromatic crunch of the monaka. Paired with the sophistication of Krug, this bite offers a moment of pure delight. Starting tomorrow until December 25, limited to 10 servings per day.
