Appointed as Authorized Distributor for Noguchi Naohiko Sake Institute
We are honoured to announce our designation as an official distrubutor of the illustrious Noguchi Naohiko Sake Institute.
Founded by Noguchi Naohiko, revered as the “God of Sake Brewing” and celebrated as one of the Four Great Noto Toji, this institute stands as a testament to his unparalleled mastery. Having retired in 2015, Mr Noguch, at the remarkable age of 85, returned to his craft in 2017 to establish the institute as the culmination of his life’s work. Its purpose is to preserve and perpetuate his extraordinary artistry, philosophy, and legacy for future generations.
Mr Noguchi’s contributions to the sake industry and Japanese cultural heritage are both profound and enduring. His revival of the traditional yamahai brewing method, introduction of ginjo sake beyond the confines of competitions, and role in sparking the daiginjo boom have redefined sake craftsmanship. His achievements have been formally recognised through prestigious accolades, including the Contemporary Master Craftsman honour in 2006 and the Medal with Yellow Ribbon in 2008, awarded for exemplary contributions to Japan’s agricultural and industrial traditions.
Each sake crafted under Noguchi’s discerning guidance embodies his visionary approach, offering a refined interplay of the rice’s inherent richness and an impeccably crisp finish—an experience so exquisite, it beckons another sip.
At IMAMI, we are proud to present a curated selection of three exceptional expressions from the Noguchi Naohiko Sake Institute. These distinguished sakes, the epitome of sophistication, are ideal for marking life’s most special moments. We warmly invite you to savour the artistry of a true legend.
