This extraordinary blend is created using only malt whiskies aged for 25 years, sourced from Nikka’s two renowned distilleries: Yoichi in Hokkaido and Miyagikyo in Sendai.

Taketsuru had already garnered international acclaim, but in 2019, it reached new heights when Taketsuru 25 Year won both the Trophy in the Japanese Whisky category at the International Spirits Challenge (ISC) and the World’s Best Blended Malt Whisky at the World Whisky Awards (WWA). This remarkable double victory solidified its position as one of the world’s most highly regarded Japanese whiskies at the time.

However, due to the increasing demand and the depletion of aged stocks, production ceased in the same year, making this bottle one of the last remaining Taketsuru 25 Year expressions in existence.
