Kimura Glass Granada | 21oz Bordeaux and 25oz Bourgogne at the Same 190mm Height

The same height, two different bowls: Kimura Glass Granada changes the space around the wine rather than the overall silhouette on the table.

Kimura Glass Granada 21oz Bordeaux and 25oz Bourgogne are handmade wine glasses designed at the same 190mm overall height, with different bowl volumes and proportions.

The two versions carried by IMAMI are the 21oz Bordeaux at 630ml and the 25oz Bourgogne at 830ml. Their height remains consistent, while the amount of space available for wine and aroma changes significantly.

Granada: one height, different bowl geometries

A defining idea of the Granada series is that the glasses share an overall height of 190mm.

Instead of changing the stem dramatically from one model to another, Kimura Glass changes the width, curvature, rim and volume of the bowl.

Several Granada glasses can therefore sit together with a visually consistent line while still serving different styles of wine.

21oz Bordeaux | 630ml with a more vertical bowl

Granada 21oz Bordeaux has a capacity of 630ml, an overall height of 190mm and a rim diameter of 59mm.

Compared with the 25oz Bourgogne, its bowl rises more vertically before narrowing toward the rim.

This Bordeaux-style geometry suits structured reds such as Cabernet Sauvignon- and Merlot-based wines, providing enough internal volume for aeration while directing aromas toward a relatively focused opening.

25oz Bourgogne | 830ml with a broader bowl

Granada 25oz Bourgogne has a capacity of 830ml, an overall height of 190mm and a rim diameter of approximately 67mm.

Its bowl expands more broadly than the Bordeaux version, creating considerably more air space around the wine.

For aromatic reds such as Pinot Noir, a broad Burgundy-style bowl gives the wine room to move and allows delicate layers of aroma to open gradually.

The design difference becomes clearest when the two stand together

The relationship between the two glasses is easiest to understand side by side.

Both measure 190mm in height, yet the 21oz holds 630ml and the 25oz holds 830ml.

That 200ml difference is expressed primarily through the bowl rather than the stem, preserving the visual unity of the series while changing the environment in which the wine opens.

Extremely thin, handmade lead-free crystal

Granada is a handmade series formed from exceptionally thin glass.

Kimura Glass lists the material as lead-free crystal and the country of origin as Hungary.

A particularly elegant detail is the transition from the widest point of the bowl into the stem, where the profile flows downward without a visually heavy break.

The thin rim and light feel in the hand reduce the sensation of glass between the drinker and the wine — a quality strongly associated with Kimura Glass stemware.

Kimura Glass: professional glassware since 1910

Kimura Glass was founded in Tokyo in 1910.

Rather than operating its own factory, the company has long collaborated with specialist craftspeople and glass factories in Japan and overseas to develop tableware for restaurants, bars and other professional settings.

Its wine and cocktail glasses are particularly recognised for thinness, lightness and refined proportions.

Granada reflects that approach: practical differences in bowl shape are integrated into a restrained, unified visual design.

Granada 21oz Bordeaux | 630ml | 190mm high | 59mm rim | Lead-free crystal | Handmade | Made in Hungary

Granada 25oz Bourgogne | 830ml | 190mm high | approx. 67mm rim | Lead-free crystal | Handmade | Made in Hungary

Two glasses that share the same height but create very different spaces for wine. Used together, the Bordeaux and Bourgogne versions make the design logic of the Granada series especially clear.
